7th Workshop on Time-Dependent Density-Functional Theory: Prospects and Applications

Prof. Alberto Castro, ARAID Foundation
Prof. Hardy Gross, Max Planck Institute of MIcrostructure Physics, Halle, Germany
Prof. Angel Rubio, Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter, Hamburg, Germany

DATE OF EVENT : 20/09/2016       DURATION : 3 day(s)

LOCATION : Centro de Ciencias de Benasque "Pedro Pascual", Benasque (Huesca)
URL : http://www.cecam.org/workshop-1278.html

The Workshop will address, among others, the following questions:

o What are the necessary models to address spin dynamics in materials, and how do they work?
o Can TDDFT be employed to study the novel time-resolved ultrafast spectroscopies?
o How can improve our understanding of electron-ion coupling at a fundamental level, going beyond Born-Oppenheimer?
o What is the state-of-the-art of the current approximations to the exchange-and-correlation functionals, both for ground-state and excited-states problems?
o What are the current experimental advances that require ab-initio modeling?
o In the field of photo-voltaics, what is the current state-of-the-art from an industrial view-point? How can the theory help?
o How can TDDFT and a quantized description of the electromagnetic field be merged?
o What is the current relation of TDDFT with more advanced many-body schemes, such as Bethe-Salpeter?
